ACUPUNCTURE

ACUPUNCTURE

WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

The needle manipulation in acupuncture is a true art. It is an alternative medicine based on traditional Chinese medicine practiced for more than 2500 years. It is a current therapy recognized by the scientific community for its virtues in the treatment of pain and inflammation.

During a treatment, very fine needles are inserted into strategic points of the body (trigger points or trigger points) at different depths. They will stimulate areas rich in nerves at the surface of the skin, subsequently influencing organs, glands, muscles, etc.

OUR APPROACH

It’s important to know that there are several different approaches in acupuncture. Our experienced acupuncturist, Marianne Boutin, has been a member of the Ordre des acupuncteurs du Québec since 1998. Mastering the art of needles and the human body is a true passion; she has been deepening her knowledge for over 20 years.

She has developed significant expertise in the treatment of myofascial pain (trigger points). The clinical effectiveness in relieving this type of pain is increasingly recognized by the global medical community.

Competence and diligence are two qualities that aptly describe our acupuncturist. She blends various techniques acquired during her many years of experience.

Marianne’s specialties include sports medicine, fertility treatments, and anxiety issues.

WHAT ARE TRIGGER POINTS?

“Trigger points,” known as “points de détente” in French, are painful points, knots found in the musculature. They cause pain during movements or even at rest.

The pain is often felt further away from the trigger points. But when pressure is applied to one of these points, it can trigger the radiation or exact pain felt.

During acupuncture treatment, the goal is to loosen the musculature and manually release the point or use dry needling.

ACULIFT

What’s ACULIFT ?

Facial acupuncture is an extraordinary treatment for toning and revitalizing the very structure of the meridians and all the layers that compose it at the molecular/cellular level.

From the skin to the muscles, joints, and the supporting fascia.

Aculift is not just an aesthetic treatment but truly organic. Facial acupuncture is a new approach that combines ancient acupuncture with modern techniques.

Aculift is also a specialty of Marianne!

“We use our face 24/7 throughout our entire life. Our face is our life, embodying our strengths and weaknesses.

Doesn’t it have the right to get tired, this face?
Is it normal that each person has a different experience of life events, resulting in different facial marks?

By targeting the acupoints Marianne selects based on your strengths, weaknesses, and facial asymmetries, she will stimulate and balance them according to her diagnosis, derived from observing the face and tongue. This treatment involves the use of fine gold-plated needles, inserted once a month for each client, promoting collagen and elastin regeneration, facial muscle relaxation, and, most importantly, cellular rejuvenation.

Certainly, the aging process is inevitable. However, through this treatment, it is possible to illuminate a face, even with a few wrinkles that mark our journey.

THE PROTOCOL

A session every 28 days +/- (corresponding to the skin regeneration cycle).
That is, 11 treatments per year.

For the Aculift treatment, you should have a clean face with no cream, serum, or makeup as a preventive measure against infections. Deep cleansing is completed at the beginning of the treatment.
Avoid showering, sauna, swimming, or sports until the next morning.
